WRECKS:


AIRCRAFT FIAT BR-20 CICOGNA (Santo Stefano al Mare)

The Breda Br 20 Cicogna was a modern double-engine Italian bomber that took part in the first actions of the World War II. This airplane sunk near St. Stefano after a bomb attack on Toulon on june 1940. Just three men of the crew survived. The airplane is in fine conditions, the engines with the propellers and the machine guns are still in position, and the cockpit is opened. It lies on a flat, detrital bottom at a depth of 47 metres. The environment is colonized by rich and colorful populations. This is probably the last existing BR 20: it's a good reason to respect this noble wreck.

GERMAN ARMED SHIP (Cervo)
One of the most known wreck of the Ligurian sea, this German armed ship sank in 1943 due to a torpedo. It lies on a sandy bottom at 47 m depth. It is 70 m long and its original shape can still be seen: the stern with its propeller, the engine, and the stokehold. The passages are very narrow, better not go through them. Lots of bunches of fishes can easily be seen, jack fish, groupers, scorpion fishes and dentex. The metal sheets of the wreck are a good den for lobsters, morays and congers.

FERRO DA STIRO (Capo Berta)

This small wreck lies on a sandy bottom at 26 mts. of depth. A lot of marine life (octopus, morays, congers and groupers) finds the shelter in its metal sheets.

Max depth: 28 meters


RELITTO DEGLI ARANCI (Capo Mimosa)

This is one of the easiest reachable wreck in the Mediterranean sea. It drowned during last world war. This dive site takes it's name from a cargo of oranges which being shipped on the boat. The wreckage became a good shelter for morays, congers, octopus, and saragos, and groupers.

SANTO STEFANO SHALLOW:

CROCE
A memorial cross lies on a sandy bottom at 32m of depth. On the right hand side a rocky ridge covered by red sea fans rises up to 24m depth. Lots of sea creatures can be found along the way in their dens where the slope grows milder and forms a hollow.
Max depth: 32 meters


CANYON
One of the most interesting points of the St. Stefano bank since you dive in between a canyon created in the rocks. The walls of the rift are covered with red sea fans.
Max depth: 34 meters


MONTECASSINO
One of the easiest dives on the rock bank of St. Stefano but not least, a good training point for those who haven't dived for a while. You can be pleased in finding lobsters, morays, congers hidden in their dens, while the bottom is often covered by Parazoanthus axinellae.
Max depth: 22 meters


ANFITEATRO
The natural shape of the rocky ridge forms an amphitheater covered by Parazoanthus axinellae. Lots of dens are hidden in this area, where octopus, lobsters, congers and other fishes made their home.
Max depth: 32 meters


FASCIONI
2 big rocky benches form an interesting area to dive. Rich in yellow and violet sponges, often you con meet bunches of groupers.

IL GIARDINO

Max depth: 35 meters


SECCA DI PONENTE
There is a big rocky drop that goes down to 36m. The site is not well known by divers, this makes it a quite intact habitat for all sorts of fishes.

RATTEGHE

Among a field of poseidonias there are several rocks which became the den of marine creatures.
Max depth: 12 meters


MADONNINA
This shallow water dive is great for the beginners! It is a trip around a statue representing a Madonna that lies under water at 8 m.
Max depth: 18 meters


INFEDELI
A lot of marine life can be seen gathering around a group of rocks on a sandy bottom; this site can be easily visited also by beginners.
Max depth: 21 meters


SANATORIO
A 'L' shaped ridge arises from a sandy bottom, al lot of poseidonia algae grow all around where fishes and mollusk gather to feed themselves. A pinna nobilis can also be seen.
Max depth: 22 meters


SARAGHI
This dive is characterized by dry rocks which stand in a poseidonia garden, on a sandy backdrop, particularly rich in fake red mediterranean coral. This site is also accessible to divers with little experience and suitable for night dives.

NINUCCIO
This big rock arising from the sandy bottom is covered by red, yellow sea fans, sea sponges, anthias and parazoanthus axinellae.
Max depth: 40 meters


GORGONIE
This is one of the most beautiful dive sites of Porto Maurizio. It's interest is due to 2 big rocks full of red and yellow sea fans.
Max depth: 40 meters


FRATI

This long ridge has many dens and cracks. You can usually meet morays, congers, lobsters and other fishes usually found at these depths. There is also a memorial anchor and a big bell.
Max depth: 32 meters

CAPO MIMOSA (Diano Marina):

PILONE NERO

This very colorful rocky drop is about 3m high an full of marina life. You can often meet a conger and a morays sharing the same den, and a particularly big lobster.
Max depth: 35 meters


SCOGLI DEL PAPPAGALLO
On this ridge, rich of Parazoanthus axinellae and sea fans. A lot of dens can be found on the way with red shrimps hidden and cleaning the area.
